2013 FEDERAL TAX CREDITS
UPDATE:
Tax credits for qualifying equipment have been reinstated as of 1/2/2013.
The bill extends the HVAC tax credits that expired in 2011 until Dec. 31, 2013.
Qualifications:
• Natural Gas, Propane, or Oil furnaces with an AFUE of 95% or greater.
Boilers: $150 tax credit
Qualifications:
• Natural Gas, Propane, or Oil boilers with an AFUE efficiency of 95% or greater.
Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems: $300 tax credit
Qualifications:
• Split system central air conditioning units with 16 SEER; 13 EER ratings as of January 1, 2009.
• Packaged central air conditioning units with 14 SEER; 12 EER ratings as of January 1, 2009.
• Split system electric heat pump units with 8.5 HSPF; 12.5 EER; 15 SEER ratings as of January 1, 2009.
• Packaged electric heat pump units with 8.0 HSPF; 12.0 EER; 14 SEER ratings as of January 1, 2009.
